Stress. We all feel stress. It's hard to imagine our lives without it. Work is stressful. Finances are stressful. Eating right. Working out. These are all sources of stress for the average person. On a daily basis, I worry. Am I getting enough water? Am I working out enough? Am I making enough money? Is my house clean enough? Is my life perfect enough? The answer is no. That's something I'm really looking forward to exploring with this blog. I want to work on the stress in my life. There are a lot of things I can't change. I can't quickly change how much money I make. I can't run out and get a new job tomorrow. It's not that easy. Life is complicated. But there are a lot of little things you can control. Below are 5 ways to quickly destress.

  1. Pick one thing and clean it

Be it the dirty dishes in the sink or a cluttered end table, cleaning something is a great way to bring a feeling of order to your life.

  1. Take a walk around the block

Exercise is known to help with stress. You don't need to do a big workout. Even a short walk will help.

  1. Call a loved one

Hearing a comforting and familiar voice can really help when you're feeling on edge.

  1. Read a pointless magazine article or watch an episode of a reality show

Sure it's good to keep up on current events and politics, but sometimes you just need to unwind by reading about the Kardashians.

  1. Take some deep breaths

No matter what's stressing you out, I promise it'll be ok in the end. Take a few deep breaths and work past it.
